As the world moves towards a more sustainable future, the Comorian Investment Forum of the Western Balkans in cooperation with the European Commission, on 06.09.2023. organized an online event on the increasingly topical topic of CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism) and its impact on the business of Western Balkan companies, entitled “CBAM – What is changing for Western Balkan companies?”
As part of the event, David Boublil, deputy head of department in the European Commission, and Ivica Orlović, representative of the European Commission’s Directorate General for Taxation and Customs Union (DG TAXUD), provided the attendees with essential insight into the guidelines for the implementation of CBAM and the practical application of the new rules through presentation “Implementation of the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM)”
CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism), a mechanism that aims to regulate carbon emissions in international trade, will enter into force in its transitional phase on October 1, 2023, with the first reporting period for importers ending on January 31, 2024. and in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2023/9561 Official Journal of the European Union L 130
