ESTABLISHMENT OF ENERGY EFFICIENCY NETWORKS
“Support to SMEs for the introduction of energy efficiency measures through the creation of the Energy Efficiency Networks (EEE)”.
The topic of the project is identification of the best and most profitable energy efficiency measures and represents a significant challenge for small and medium-sized enterprises. This project is supported within the Green Recovery Component implemented by GIZ in cooperation with the Foreign Trade/Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH as the main implementation partner, as well as the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Srpska, the Chamber of Commerce/Economics of the Federation of BiH and the Chamber of Commerce Brčko District.
The goal of the project is the establishment of the Energy Efficiency Networks (EEEs) – which consists of small and medium-sized enterprises operating in various sub-sectors in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The project is intended for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from Bosnia and Herzegovina that have the need and opportunity to implement energy efficiency measures in production. Their planning and implementation aims primarily to reduce the costs of production processes, remove negative effects on the environment and enable more efficient operations, as well as added value for SMEs and the economy as a whole. Companies that will participate in MEE will achieve significant financial savings and technical support during the implementation of measures, as well as the possibility of exchanging information with companies from the FR of Germany that have already implemented such projects. The realization in the technical and professional sense will be carried out by experts from Germany who have rich experience in these jobs. As a result of the project, the companies will receive reports with a proposal for concrete measures that they should undertake in order to improve energy efficiency in their production facilities.
The project will last until August 2024 and will be realized through six working meetings of the network at the locations of the network’s member companies, as well as a multi-day visit to companies in FR Germany, where they will be able to specifically see the applied measures and their positive effects in the business of these companies.
The public call for expressions of interest was concluded in July, and it is expected that by the end of
the year, functional networks will be established.
